Stephanie here, to let you know a few of the fun and geeky things to do on Friday February 3, 2012. One of the great things about Vegas is there is always something to do. And today is full of fun! Let’s get to it shall we?
How about we start with the biggest event of the weekend: First Friday! First Friday has been a Vegas staple for several years now. It draws in crowds from across the city to partake in all things artistic. Peruse through the galleries, check out various vendors and enjoy the food from several food trucks. Live art of all varieties, along with a music stage help round out the experience. You can purchase some of the great art you find and meet some of the local artists who put together this great event. There is even a comic book store! It’s called HellPop! and you should definitely check it out. The Arts District is located in Downtown Las Vegas and expands across several streets. First Friday has given Vegas a reason to come together as a community every month. If you need more info, check out the First Friday FAQ’s here.
If movies and Steampunk are your cup of tea, check out the Las Vegas Steampunk Tea Society. The group is for lovers of all things Steampunk! They have get togethers and do outings dressed in their finest Victorian and Steampunk garb. The meet up tonight is for the watch the new Daniel Radcliffe movie “The Woman In Black“. The LVSTS will be meeting at Sam’s Town about 730pm tonight. Costumes not required but strongly encouraged! Read the Facebook event for more information.
So you don’t like Steampunk or art? How about Magic the Gathering? Well every Friday night across the Valley is Friday Night Magic! Players all across the Valley get together at their favorite shops and play Magic till the wee hours of the morning. A few places to consider going are Maximum Comics in Henderson, Comic Oasis, Little Shop of Magic and Avatar Comics and Games. I have quite a few friends who play the game and they look forward to this event every week.
So there you have it folks! You have lots of options for your Friday night! So go out and get your geek on!
